Greetings and welcome to the second episode of HACKING LIFE, where I document my attempts to shape the surroundings to MY WILL<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And on a less dramatic note:
I am currently living with my better half in a nice, cozy apartment. However, as cozy as it might be, it still is quite small. Small means our bed frame is shoved into the corner with one side facing the wall. Needless to say, my better half, also got the better half of the bed, which means I am sleeping with the ICE-BLOCK of a wall to the right of me.
You know what its like to wake up in the middle of the night because and exposed part of your body accidently touched the wall??? HORRIBLE, that’s what it’s like!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it’s actually not what I’m trying to solve in this episode.
Imagine the following scenario –
You’re in bed dreaming about eating Pizza and Ice Cream… AND THEN someone starts playing a soundtrack in your head and you want to turn it off but you can’t! AHHHHHH
Several frantic seconds later you realize it’s the alarm and you need to get up to work…
At 6:30AM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let the bargaining commence: “You know what 6:30 AM? why don’t we make a deal and I’ll let you snooze <\/strong><\/span>so I<\/strong> could snooze <\/strong><\/span>until 6:40 wakes us up. How about that?”<\/em>
So you reach out for the snooze button, but realize the phone is on the desk on the other side of bed and you literally have to get up and take it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think you see where I’m going with this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I solve this issue?
First I tried to just keep the phone on the bed with me, but it refused to snuggle with me, and kept falling into the small crack between the wall and the bed. Alarm kicks off and you find yourself having to MOVE the bed to reach your phone. That’s even worse then getting up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I moved on from that ingenious idea. Now that I have my PRUSA I3 MK3S+ 3d Printer, I am able to get creative! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do have an outlet on my side, for the air conditioner, and I have an outlet hub for other devices to be plugged in as well. What if I attached a pocket on to it for a phone (or maybe 2 phones?) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I sketched the <\/u><\/b><\/span>initial <\/u><\/b><\/span>design onto my notebook<\/span><\/strong> -><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Took some measurements<\/strong><\/span><\/span> and started the 3d design<\/strong><\/span> <\/span>-><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Production – I had some issues with drying the filament, so I went with the not so fancy design, in the color of blue.
Anyways, turned on my 3d printer and in 4 hours later… VOILA <\/span>– <\/strong>
I give you the keep-my-phone-reachable-at-night-for-my-own-SANITY-‘nator<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
